In under 5 minutes if you have your company profile and cover pictures ready. Follow these 6 easy steps, but before you get started you will obviously need a personal Facebook account so if you haven't already signed up for Facebook (over 1 billion people already have) follow link to sign-up for Facebook.
Options here include "Local Business or Place", "Company, Organisation or Institution", "Brand or Product", "Artist, Band or Public Figure", "Entertainment", Cause or Community". For the same of this tutorial I've selected "Company, Organisation or Institution".
Don't worry about getting descriptions perfect here. You can always go back and change the minor details but try to get your company name and address (the http://facebook.com/your-company-name) part as close to what you want it as possible.
This is probably the only tricky part. There are millions of businesses on Facebook and consequently many names are taken. There is always a solution, try something like http://facebook.com/YourBusinessNameOnline or http://facebook.com/YourBusinessNameZA etc. The combinations are limitless but again, try to get something that closely resembles your business name to help people identify your business quickly.
In this case it will be your company logo. I usually upload a 500x500 pixel .png as the quality is good and readable on all devices.
This makes it easy to find and administer your page when in Facebook but is not mandatory. You can also skip this step and add it later.
Now you can tweak your page, add contact details, phone and email addresses etc. Most importantly, once your page is done start inviting friends, family and people you know to like your page. There is also paid advertising through Facebook to promote your page / business but this can be expensive.
As the song goes, it's now the start of using your Business Facebook page to promote your business. Create a business Facebook page and consider it a tool to be used to market your business or organisation. It can be a very powerful tool if used right.
